For skin care, I love natural oils. One of my favorites is almond oil. Almond oil comes from the nut, so the trees are not damaged in obtaining it. Almond oil, which is rich in vitamins D and E, fatty acids, proteins, calcium and magnesium, is also an antioxidant. It helps the skin maintain moisture levels and is quickly and easily absorbed when applied. It helps delay the signs of ageing.Sweet and bitter almond oils are available, but sweet almond oil is more commonly used.
Benefits of Almond Oil.
When applied to the skin, almond oil has many benefits:
It improves the complexion.
It soothes irritated skin inflammation and rashes.
It helps the skin retain moisture.
Due to its anti-oxidant content, it can delay the signs of ageing.
It can relieve eczema.
It can be used to massage the scalp.
It can be used to massage the scalp.
It reduces hair fall and is a good moisturizer for dry hair.
It helps relieve dandruff.
It can be massaged into the nails to strengthen them.
It can be applied safely to products for babies.
Risks of Almond Oil.
Almond oil provides no protection against the sun's rays and therefore should never be used as protection from the sun. It is also contra-indicated for people with an almond allergy. It is always advisable to use good quality, organic brands of oil for skin care as low quality oils can worsen any problems.
Storing Almond Oil.
Almond oil must be stored in a cool, dry place. It can go rancid if exposed to heat because of its high vitamin E content.
